It IS Sort of Accurate

As the Steph Miller folks put it, we took rights away from humans and gave them to chickens.

And it was the Maroons and the Catlicks that did Daniel's share of the work.

Taking them down, One By One

Ok, it's that 'Day of Reckoning' that the Puritans KNEW was coming.

The one in which they would be judged.

Turns out, though, it's their peers, not the Lord God doing the assessment.

You see, they POURED money into California in order to ensure that gay people were relegated to second-class status.

But, thanks to places like 'Follow The Money' at http://followthemoney.org we can do things like look the people up who paid to help.

Now, it's a time-honored tradition in the Xian 'right' to boycott 'left-wing' products, like Disney, and Proctor & Gamble (who feature a moon as their logo).

Most progressives aren't that petty.

However, it really does need to be pointed out just HOW MUCH money was focused.

So, when you see that a group called "PROTECTMARRIAGE.COM" has put up $2,913,601, you wonder where it comes from. Well, now, you can just click right through, and you can see that the top individual is William Bolthouse, from Avila, CA.

And it just happens that he's got a FOOD COMPANY!

How convenient for a boycott. Some things, you can just sit on and accumulate stock, but a food company you can take out by destroying their cash flow.

So, I personally will try to keep up with the product line from 'Bolthouse Farms'.

Yeah, it will hurt the people who work there. They should find other work for nice people, though, and sometimes, people need a nudge.

Lots and lots of things to NOT buy there:

Just one of MANY places to avoid.

Now, in my own case, I'm straight, so I don't fit the profile, but the people who are the most pissed are the gay people who lost their civil rights.

And yano, the funniest thing, gay people have more disposable income overall than straight ones.

I wonder what they'll discover about these people's access to 'excess' cash?

HURTT JR, ROBERT $25,000
ELDRED, KENNETH $25,000
BROOME MD, DALE $20,000
HINZ, ROLAND $12,500
WEINBERG, ALLYSON $12,500
ATSINGER III, EDWARD $12,500
KIEDING, GRETCHEN $10,000
PAYTON, KENNETH $10,000
ELAM, C JIM $8,000
RIDINGER, STEPHEN $5,000
BROOME MD, DALE $5,000

(just the next bunch of names on the list).

Turnabout, is, in fact, fair play.

If I know that the people who are selling me stuff will use the money against me politically, I tend to avoid them.

I've not shopped at Wal-Mart in quite some years now (union busters). I haven't bought a Domino's Pizza (pro-life) that I recall.

If I see the Bolthouse brand around, I'll make SURE not to buy it:

And, of course, I won't be going to Sundance.

Goodbye to being a "socialist" and "anti-American" because you supported a moderate Democrat.

Wish List

Notes from the Rachel Maddow show blog about what we might want Obama to do:

Rescind "don't ask, don't tell" and letting gays serve proudly in our services.

Join the World Court (even Bush's pardons won't count there).

Rescind Executive Order 13233, which illegally overrode the 'Presidential Records Act'. We all need to have that info to turn over to the world court so that we can convict Bush I and Reagan for war crimes.

Do something about the third party problem. We can do Instant Run-Off, or Proportional Rep, but the idea that Greens elect Republicans is just brain-damaged.

Close Gitmo

Outlaw torture.

Repeal the PATRIOT Act.

Start building wind turbines, solar panels, and capture methane gas from landfills

Start shifting troops from Iraq to Afghanistan and meet with Karzai to help develop a plan to settle the multiple issues happening there.

End the trade embargo with Cuba to allow the transfer of medical supplies and medicine. (they have a menningitis vaccine, we have vaccines they need).

Universal Health-Care

Begin prioritizing major infrastructure projects to create jobs.

Go line by line through the budget and cut foreign aid to countries richer than us.

Rescind the Bush Doctrine and its supporting white paper from Fall 2002. No "preventive war."

Institute Dennis Kucinich's 'Department of Peace'

Pot Rules

Massachusetts voters approved decriminalizing possession of 1 ounce or less of marijuana. Under the new law, taking effect in 30 days, those caught must give up the marijuana and pay a $100 fine but won't face criminal penalties. Eleven other states have similar laws.

Michigan became the 13th state to allow residents — with a doctor's approval — to use marijuana to treat pain caused by cancer and other diseases.

Cute Tidbits

According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent "tens of thousands" more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as "Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast," and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.

The debates unnerved both candidates. When he was preparing for them during the Democratic primaries, Obama was recorded saying, "I don't consider this to be a good format for me, which makes me more cautious. I often find myself trapped by the questions and thinking to myself, 'You know, this is a stupid question, but let me … answer it.' So when Brian Williams is asking me about what's a personal thing that you've done [that's green], and I say, you know, 'Well, I planted a bunch of trees.' And he says, 'I'm talking about personal.' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'."
